Polyculture Avril

Dear friends of Club PolyCulture de Tokyo,

Club PolyCulture de Tokyo in April welcomes you to the world of “ Japanese traditional performing art - Japanese dance (Nihon Buyou)-”.
Our guest, Mr Takujiro HANAYAGI, is a high-profile Japanese traditional dance artist.
He is not only leading a biggest Japanese dance school “Hanayagi-school (hanayagi-ryu)” as a board member and teaching at university, but also giving a lot’s of domestic & overseas performance so far.
He says his main issue is to work on an “exploration of human being” through his dance.

We will be hearing about the basics of “what Japanese dance is”, “what it means to a Japanese of today” to “Comparison with other overseas dance ”in a universal and global perspective under the theme of “ Japanese traditional performance in the world”

After his speech, he will be giving an ad-lib performance with some western music instrument.
